Rosco “Hammerman” Stump, 77, of Petersburg, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Oakland, Md.

Born Oct. 19, 1944, in Normantown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Andy B. Stump and Nellie (Greenleaf) Stump. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janette Marie (Cottrill) Stump; two brothers, Leanard and Ferris Stump; two sisters, Drusilla James and Helen Jenkins; and one great-grandson, Matthew VanMeter.

He was a truck driver for a trucking company.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Lahman of Weirton, W.Va.; five sisters, Bessie Heather, Burnsville, W.Va., Anna Mae Carpenter, Gassaway, W.Va., Odie Jenkins, Gassaway, Ruth Givins, Frametown, W.Va., and Rachel Pauline, North Carolina; three brothers, Charles Edward, Wilsey, W.Va., Russell Stump, Chapel, W.Va., and Henry Stump, Gassaway; as well as six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

His body will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
