Jerry Bruce Kitzmiller, 83, of Smyrna, Tenn. and formerly of Mount Storm, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1937, in Westernport, Md., he was a son of the late Jesse Oliver Kitzmiller and Leona Mildred (LaRue) Kitzmiller.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Kitzmiller and Kenneth Kitzmiller; and one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Kitzmiller.
Jerry is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Showalter) Kitzmiller; one son, Matthew Kitzmiller (Kimberly) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Stephanie Kitzmiller and Catarina Wooding (Brendon) of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren; six brothers, John Kitzmiller (Margaret) of Mount Storm, Robert Kitzmiller (Mary Jean) of Clearwater, Fla., Richard “Pete” Kitzmiller (Linda) of Mount Storm, Roger Kitzmiller of Mount Storm, Daniel Kitzmiller (Carla) of Purcellville, W.Va. and Charles “Randy” Kitzmiller of Mount Storm; one sister-in-law, Barbara Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army. He was a long time member of LifePoint Church in Smyrna, where he faithfully attended and served.
Funeral services were Monday morning at the Mount Storm Methodist Church with the Rev. Rebecca L. Bennett officiating. Interment was in Mount Storm Cemetery with military honors by the Petersburg VFW Post 6454 and West Virginia Army Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Jerry in a special way, may make memorial gifts to Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Blessing.
