Martha Viola Moyers, 94, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center, Petersburg.
Born March 21, 1926, in Landes, she was the daughter of the late Harley Russel and Verlie (Alt) Sites. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Moyers; one brother, Walter Sites; one sister, Delsie Sites; and one grandson.
Mrs. Moyers attended school on Middle Moutnain and had worked at Sites Restaurant, the former Windsor Knit Sewing Factory, Petersburg and retired as a mail carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Bethel Church, Landes, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the PVFC Women’s Auxiliary, CEOS in Grant County and she was a Grant County Belle in 1997 at the W.Va. State Folk Festival. She served on the Silver Haired Legislature and served as a delegate to the annual Brethren Church conference.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Bergdoll of Arthur and  Shelby Borror and Treva Black, both of Petersburg; one son, John Moyers of Maysville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be today (Tuesday) at 11 a.m., at the Alt-Sites Cemetery, Petersburg. Due to Covid-19 and out of respect for others, we require face coverings to be worn and to maintain social distancing at all times.
