Wendell E. Warner, 73, of Franklin, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, in Huntington, W.Va. after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.

He was born September 24, 1946 at Riverton, W.Va. and was the son of the late Mona C. Warner.

Wendell was a 1964 graduate of Circleville High School and a 1969 graduate of Shepherd College. His teaching career began at Highland County Schools, where he was also a basketball coach. He also taught at Franklin Elementary and North Fork Elementary schools before he retired.  He was a farmer and enjoyed watching old westerns. Wendell was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #769.

On August 15, 1965, he married Marcia Combs Warner, who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Andra Keister (and husband, Jack) of Harrisonburg, Va.; one son, Michael Warner (and wife, Cindy) of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Pearce Keister, Cody Warner and Reaghan Warner; one aunt, Gladys Harper of Pendleton Manor in Franklin; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin where a celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Mike Loudermilk and Pastor David Morris officiating.
