Description

CASE NO. 24-0672-S-19A
C&J UTILITIES LLC
NOTICE OF STAFF-RECOMMENDED RATES

On August 5, 2024, C&J Utilities LLC, of Petersburg, West Virginia filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia an application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing sewer services to approximately 30 customers in Grant County, West Virginia. The Utility has no employees or contract labor to operate and maintain the system and treats its own sewage. The owners maintain and operate the system.

The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the application and recommended increased rates and charges designed to produce approximately $4,511 annually in additional revenue, an overall increase of 39.02% over revenue under current rates. Under staff recommended rates, the monthly bill for the average usage of 3,500 gallons will increase $11.27 or 39.03%.

The current and staff recommended rates are as follows:

Metered Rates
(Per 1,000 gallons)        Current        Staff Recommended

                                   $8.25          $11.47

Minimum Charge           $16.50        $22.94

Leak Adjustment           $0.70          $1.39

Anyone desiring to review the Staff recommendation report may do so on the Commission website (www.psc.state.wv.us). Anyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do so in writing within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests may be filed on line through the Commission web site using the “Submit a Comment” link or may be mailed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25323 or hand delivered to the Public Service Commission. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified.

The Commission may adopt rates and charges which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.
